Reflection:
In this communications class, I learned lots of valuable information in how to better communicate. I learned about how to both effectively get interviewed and interview somebody else. I learned about the importance of listening to others, and I also learned about how to give presentations publicly - my biggest fear. My biggest "aha" moment of this class was realizing the importance of being able to sell yourself. I didn't know that being able to communicate and sell myself is more important than all my credentials on my resume. Since this realization, I have been working on improving this ability to sell myself, which will help me get scholarships while in school and get a job and later a career when I graduate from college.

For my signature assignment in Communications 1010, I wrote a
proposal on how to better improve one aspect of my communication skills.
The aspect that I wanted to improve was reducing anxiety about giving
public speeches, or in other words, minimizing stage fright. I used
concepts from the book to outline a plan of action for me to use that
would help me become more comfortable about public speaking.
